How Perch Started

Perch was founded in 2010 - on the simple principle that serviced apartment living would one day become as common & accepted in India as it was overseas. And people would increasingly opt for serviced living over hotels, guest houses and motels.

We started the dream with one building in Gurgaon - it was a state of the art serviced apartment complex at that time (Sector 40). Even today it is one of our finest buildings, with many clients coming back several times. Since then we have grown the organisation & our suite of apartments & studios. OUR STORY

Starting Small in 2010 with 1 serviced apartment building. Creating an organisation to serve clients, provide a great serviced living experience

2011 - Inception

Started from a single owned property in Gurgaon (Gurugram). Madhu leads the operation and launch full-time and with both Kunal and Shaurya pitching in with their respective inputs. The Sector 40 building has stood the test of time and has 7 fully serviced apartments.
The apartments were designed by well known architect Sandeep Khera who created a building that has stood the test of time. The design keeps it cool during the winter with cross flows, with ample day light streaming in.

2012- Immediate Success

Within a year of launch the Perch wins several industry awards. After a career in professional Golf, Shaurya pursues his masters from the Indian School of Business and Kunal continues his banking career in Singapore.
Perch was also one of the first to list on Airbnb in India & received clients from several countries in ashort span of time. Perch has continued to grow on Airbnb and now has over 2000 reviews on Airbnb (Avg rating of4.6)

2013- Team building & Sports

The Perch focussed on building a diverse team with members from different backgrounds and age groups. Social interaction and sports have been a regular feature in order to foster creativity and team spirit.
We not just organise cricket tournaments for our team members, but also opened up these popular events to guests who are staying with us. This is extremely popular with younger corporate travelers who want to participate in some serious "fun" activity.

2014- Opened first Corporate Hotel

The Perch Arbor line of Corporate Hotels was born. With the first property being the Perch Arbor Suites- Sushant Lok which has gone on to win 4 successive Tripadvisor Certificate of excellence awards!
Since then we have continued to build on the need for good corporate accomodation in Gurgaon by adding 2 more corporate hotels - Perch Arbor on Golf Course Road and Perch Arbor Cyber City - both in Gurgaon. These are ideal for corporate travelers looking for place as well as other short stay visitors to Gurgaon, Delhi NCR.

2015- Multiple international and domestic awards

This was the first time that Perch properties won both the coveted Booking.com customer excellence, Tripadvisor Certificate of excellence and other international company awards.
Since 2015, we embarked on a journey to make Perch an organisation with some of the best practices and a great vibe for employees. This includes having regular training sessions, a focus on hospitality as well as fostering good systems & processes in the organisation.

2016- Professional Management & Multi-City presence

This was the first time that Perch properties won both the coveted Booking.com customer excellence, Tripadvisor Certificate of excellence and other international company awards. We take with a sense of not just pride but also humility of the faith placed in us by our clients / partners. At this point, the company started the transition to professional management with a separate sales, marketing team along with a full financial control section.

2017- Launch of Perch Affiliate model

Perch adds partner properties in Delhi NCR, the affiliate model allows aspiring and existing property owners to join the Perch and utilize its in-house expertise & resources such as Marketing, SEO, and online sales.
Our value offering to affiliate properties is simple - we provide you with the entire backend including Property Management System, website that receives bookings, a handbook to help with OTA setup. This helps jumpstart any new property (and we even send direct queries every month) and help them achieve profitability within 8-12 months

2018- Launch of Finner PMS & strategic partnerships

Moving to an advisory role within Perch, Shaurya then co-founded the Travel technology Saas company; Finner PMS , the company helps others build a successful online travel or hotel business by providing the right online tools to optimize online sales, operations and marketing. The company has secured Angel funding as has two IIM-A Alumni as advisors (Kunal Singh- Co Founder and Misal Singh - Investors & Advisor)

2019- International Media Recognition & crossing 150 room inventory

Perch’s guiding light Ms Madhu Singh received widespread recognition and media accolades for the work being done by her in the hospitality sector as well as being an example of women entrepreneurs. She was covered in a majority of international newspapers and publications. Perch also received customer excellence awards from major global OTA companies such as Booking. MMT, Ibibo, Airbnb and Tripadviosr . among others.

Madhu has been the north star of the organisation, relying on her background as an Army officer's wife and living within the Indian defence services for 40 years. This instilled in her the value of discipline, hard work, camaraderie and working towards a common cause. She has been a soldier's wife, a mother, a friend, a boss and now a guide to us all. She is also passionate about fitness, participating in cross fit at the grand old age of 65. Golf is another passion she follows and loves to travel to various parts of India to play. 2020- Resilience Amidst Challenges

As the world grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic, Perch Service Apartments faced unprecedented challenges. The team worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of their employees and guests. Despite the difficult circumstances, Perch Service Apartments made every effort to continue operating multiple properties and providing the service it is known for.

2021- Navigating the Second Wave

The year 2021 brought another wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, testing Perch Service Apartments once again. With strict safety protocols and a dedication to maintaining a high standard of service, the team managed to weather the storm. In a testament to their unwavering determination, they opened a new property known as Perch Service Apartment MG Road, expanding their reach and offering guests a new location to enjoy.

2022- Expanding and Innovating

Perch Service Apartments continued to grow and innovate in 2022. They opened a new property, Perch DLF Cyber City, expanding their portfolio and offering more options to their guests. The team also focused on expanding their workforce and strengthening their partnership with Finner PMS. The technology provided by Finner PMS continued to evolve, offering advanced features to optimize online sales, operations, and marketing.

2023 - Strong Growth and Awards

The year 2023 marked another significant mile stone for Perch Service Apartments. They opened a new property, Perch Arbor Cyber City, further cementing their presence in the hospitality sector. Their unwavering commitment to excellence earned them numerous awards and accolades from respected platforms such as Booking.com and Trip Advisor, recognizing their dedication to providing exceptional service and experiences to their guests.
